Welcome to the Woodberry Designs studio

My name is Kerryanne English and I am the designer behind the labels Woodberry Designs & Shabby Art Boutique.

My home studio is in a beautiful coastal town in New South Wales, Australia. I live here with my husband of 20 years, our two teenage daughters and my studio buddy ~ Gypsy (an 8 year old Bichon Frise).

I am passionate about art and craft and find inspiration in all facets of my life. Being creative is what makes me... ME. Recent poor health fueled my desire to make the sea change and now that we are settled in our new home in this beautiful town, I feel more invigorated, energized, and inspired than ever. 'I'm living the dream'.

So, that's where I am at right now. The more technical stuff follows....

After completing a tertiary arts course in the early 1980’s, I pursued an arts based career which has spanned 28 years. I set up my own studio in 1992 and have worked fulltime as a professional home based artist ever since.

Over the past 18 years I have released 200+ original designs as instructional pattern packets. More than 40 of those projects have been published in leading Australian craft and decorative painting magazines. I've also had several ‘Artists Profiles’ feature in Handmade magazine, Australian Country Craft magazine and Australian Fine Art and Decorative Artists magazine. I opened my web store in 2002 as an outlet for selling my artwork, pattern packets and books and now ship both locally and internationally.

For the past 8 years I have also enjoyed the opportunity of teaching in my own studio, at workshops and conventions.  I get a lot of satisfaction watching others being creative and inspired. I am a member of the Society of Decorative Painters in the USA as well as several Australian artist groups. I'm also a DecoArt Helping Artist and a member of the Loew-Cornell Teacher-Designer program in the US.

My journey in art has taken different routes throughout my career. I've reached a stage now where I feel comfortable with what I do. I don't try to be like others or follow trends - I just do what appeals to me!! Thankfully so far, it has also appealed to many of you too.
