About the artist.....

Hi, my name is Kerryanne English and

I am the artist behind Woodberry Designs.

Arts and crafts have always been my passion.

After completing an arts course in the early 80’s I pursued an arts based career which has spanned 25 years. I gained invaluable experience in the industry before setting up my own business from my home based studio in 1992.

Initially, I supplied finished items to decorator and homeware stores nationally before trying party plan and later on, markets. In 2002, I changed the name to Woodberry Designs and expanded the business to include pattern packets, kits and cutouts. Like any business, Woodberry Designs has grown and changed over the last 14 years. We are now predominantly a pattern design mail order business and teaching studio.

I have had over 30 painting projects published in Australian Decorative Painting magazine, Handmade magazine and Australian Country Crafts  magazine as well as Artist Profiles in Australian Country Craft and Handmade magazines. I am a member of The Society of Folk Art & Decorative Artists of Victoria and the Society of Decorative Painters (USA). I am also a DecoArt Helping Artist and a member of the Loew-Cornell Teacher-Designer program.

In 2004 we extended the studio to include a new painting room for classes. I thoroughly enjoy my time teaching and hope that by sharing my knowledge with others, they too will learn the joy of expressing themselves though decorative painting.

Woodberry Designs is a family run business. My husband Mark has always encouraged and supported my endeavors and keeps the household running smoothly when I’m working. Our beautiful daughters Jessica and Aimee, now aged 12 & 9, have grown up in and around the studio - this is one of the definite advantages of having a home based studio. They are both artistic and enjoy helping mum with her work.

I hope to continue  my creative journey of designing and painting for many years to come. As always, I encourage your feedback and suggestions. My designs are especially for you so please don't be shy in letting me know what you would like to see.

Happy painting,

                   Kerryanne
